Gloryroos – What a let down they have been

Filed under: Football — notyalcsdrawkcab @ 8:31 am

A promising Glory team adds some experienced players who have been around NT squads.  There were high hopes, but those hopes have faded.

These guys think that a loan deal to a minor overseas league team will help them get to the World Cup?  Being the best in the A-league would have been a better start.  Taking your team to the Premiership wouldn`t have hurt either.

Why exactly should an overseas team want Sterjovski, Burns or Coyne?  Would you want them after watching footage of Perth Glory in the current season?  Not exactly lighting up the A-league, are they?  And if they can`t excel here, why should anyone think they will excel in a harder league?

  1. The problems start with the coach – Mitchell seems to be a protected species from his historic links to the Socceroos. Plus I suspect that the FFA is still having a considerable say in this club.

    • glory played some good footy under Mitchell last year … but he hasn`t got the ship sailing smoothly this year has he?

i realised the game was up for the glory during one match when their players spent most of one game yelling at each other. cranky old men who really aren`t in it together.

the dadi debacle also didn`t paint him in a good light either.

if tony sage has the cash to bring in 3 fringe socceroos, he probably also has the cash to bring in a lavicka quality euro coach too. or at least, that is my hope.
